Law Entrance Exams Format
Law School Entrance Exams usually test the students in the following areas:
English
Patterns include antonyms, synonyms, sentence completion, grammar, reading comprehension, idioms and phrases, essays etc.
General Knowledge
Areas covered include significant legal events and developments, current events of national and international importance, General Science, History of India, Geography, Indian Econonmy, Indian polity and Constitution.
Mathematics
Topics covered include arithmetic, algebra, geometry, mensuration, probability etc.
Verbal and Logical Reasoning
Patterns include analogies, syllogisms, critical reasoning, assumptions and conclusions, puzzles, series etc.
Legal Reasoning and Legal Aptitude
The section tests the ability of students to apply stated legal principles to situations given.
The entrance exams have objective as well as subjective questions. The duration varies from 90 minutes for NALSAR to 2 hours for NLSIU. In some of the exams certain sections carry negative marks for wrong answers.
